Monovoca processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed is not used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of use changes, we will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • Service provision: Provision of word learning services and content
  • Member management: Identity verification, personal identification, and prevention of fraudulent use by bad members according to membership service use
  • Service improvement: Development of new services and provision of customized services, provision of services according to statistical characteristics

2. Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information

Monovoca processes and retains personal information within the period of retention and use of personal information according to laws and regulations or the period of retention and use of personal information agreed upon when collecting personal information from the information subject.

  • Member registration and management: Until membership withdrawal (However, if an investigation or inquiry is in progress due to violation of related laws and regulations, until the end of such investigation or inquiry)

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Monovoca processes personal information of information subjects only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information), and provides personal information to third parties only when it falls under Article 17 and Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as consent from the information subject or special provisions of laws.

6. Rights and Obligations of Information Subjects and How to Exercise Them

Information subjects can exercise the following rights related to personal information protection against Monovoca at any time.

  • Request to suspend processing of personal information
  • Request to access personal information
  • Request to correct or delete personal information
  • Request to suspend processing of personal information

7. Destruction of Personal Information

Monovoca destroys personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary, such as when the retention period of personal information expires or the purpose of processing is achieved.

Information entered by users is moved to a separate DB after the purpose is achieved (or separate documents in case of paper) and destroyed immediately or after being stored for a certain period according to internal policies and other related laws and regulations.

Destruction Method

For information in electronic file format, technical methods that cannot reproduce records are used. Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding with a shredder or incineration.

Monovoca is responsible for comprehensively handling tasks related to personal information processing, and designates a personal information protection officer as follows to handle complaints from information subjects and provide relief for damages related to personal information processing.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

This privacy policy takes effect from January 1, 2025, and if there are additions, deletions, or corrections to the contents according to laws and policies, we will notify through announcements from 7 days before the implementation of the changes.
